Eastmere Cottage Facilities and Internal Photographs

Eastmere has two bedrooms. It will accommodate 4 people - suitable for couples or families. It is a detached, insulated timber bungalow/cottage with its own secure front and kitchen doors. There is off-road parking for two cars.

Eastmere is inspected annually by Visit England. It is fully accredited and received 3 star grading in 2015. Add the high sunshine records to the warm welcome offered by the owners, Jean and Bernard, with a tour of the cottage to help you to enjoy your stay

It is situated in a rural lane that runs between Eastergate and attractive Walberton village. Both villages have ancient churches, pubs, playing fields and children’s play area. The lane has a variety of properties, interspersed with fields and paddocks, a few miles south of the South Downs. Visitors are delighted to experience the South Downs - dotted with villages and with Sussex flint walls and thatched cottages along the winding B roads.

Eastmere is located midway between Chichester and Arundel, 1 mile from Fontwell, 5 miles from Goodwood and 6 miles north of beaches at Littlehampton and Bognor Regis*. Chichester, proud of its Festival theatre, magnificent Cathedral, art galleries, quality shops, restaurants and cinemas. Mediaeval Arundel with its famous castle, antique shops and restaurants. Brighton, 22 miles to the east with its spectacular promenade. Portsmouth, 20 miles to the west, with its historic ships.

Eastmere is decorated in pastel colours, well equipped and has free WIFI.

The Lounge/dining room is partially carpeted. It has a TV with DVD Player, 2 Parker-Knowle easy chairs, 2 Swivel recliner chairs and includes a solid dining table and 4 chairs where there is laminate flooring.

Kitchen: sufficient utensils, cupboards and work surfaces, fridge/freezer, microwave, electric cooker, toaster, washing machine and access to drying facilities.

Bathroom: bath with flexible over-bath shower, hand basin and WC. A cupboard contains the hot water immersion heater and pump, the central heating induction heater and stores a vacuum cleaner.

Bedrooms: one room has a double bed and antique fitted wardrobe, the other is a twin room with two 3ft wide beds, wardrobe with shelves and a chest of drawers. Bedding, linen, and towels are provided.

Central Heating: electric induction heater via controlled radiators: Cooling fans are available if needed. Electricity is included in the price quoted.

Children are welcome. There is a west-facing area with garden seating and table. A wide gate with mesh secures this gravelled area - making it safe for young children. We are sorry, but we cannot accept pets. There is "no smoking" in the cottage. Visitors may smoke outside.

Just to the east your neighbours are the owners, Bernard and Jean Lane. Some distance to the west, are well-tended livery stables. Stable staff may be seen working.

Eastmere Cottage may be enjoyed by older or walking disabled people who can cope with a 3 inch (8cm) step and standard width doors within the cottage. Outside the ground is flat gravel.

Walkers and cyclists are welcome and many come to walk or ride the South Downs Way. Cycles can be securely stored. We have large scale Ordnance Survey maps of the area, including the South Downs National Park.

We can recommend several restaurants and character village pubs for high quality meals. Fascinating days out can include: Weald and Downland Museum at Singleton; Amberley Open Air Museum, National Trust properties and gardens, Parham House and plant nursery; and Fishbourne Roman Palace.

*Bognor Regis has the highest mainland sunshine records.
